Dealership History

The Jackson Experience

It all started in 1927 with Bob's father repairing Model T's and going on to several other dealerships in Walkerton, St. Thomas and settling in Barrie. Bob always loved cars and worked in every phase of the development of the business. In 1969, Bob Jackson had a vision: to establish a Toyota dealership in Barrie, Ontario. The debut of Jackson's Toyota hosted a staff of seven employees and currently in 2006 an exponential growth to 51 employees. Now the 3rd generation has stepped in with a love for automobiles that his grandfather and father were blessed with. Greg is a graduate of Northwood Institute in both Barrie (Georgian College) and Texas. After 7 years with his dad, Greg is now General Manager. We were in a facility that was built in 1956 and expanded over and over to 12,000 square feet on 1.5 acres. Presently, we are now located at the new dealership that is 33,000 square feet, on 4 acres of land at the corner of Mapleview and Veterans Road. We are now open and pleased to serve you. The growth is an example of the Jackson family commitment to the community and it's loyal Toyota customers. The commitment extends beyond that, with their strong involvement with community events and associations. They are: Royal Victoria Hospital, Georgian College, Season's Centre, IOOF Retirement Home, Theatre by the Bay, The Maclaren Art Centre, Rotary Clubs, Bay cats baseball, local hockey and soccer and many others. The Jackson's commitment to quality service has brought them many repeat customers, many who are now third and fourth generation. Jackson's Toyota is the largest dealer in Central Ontario, and has won many awards in sales, service and customer satisfaction. With a longstanding reputation of community involvement, Jackson's hosts an annual golf tournament that raises money for local charities and organizations.
