TUNDRA WINS BIG!

Winner of the Truck King Challenge

The Tundra has been named the overall winner of the 2008 Canadian Truck King Challenge, an independent test of 23 trucks organized by Powersports Media Service. The award marks the second time Toyota has taken the tope spot; the Toyota Tacoma won in the inaugural Challenge in 2007.

The class winners were the Toyota Tacoma (midsize, Under V6); Toyota Tacoma (Midsize, V6 and Over); Toyota Tundra (Half-ton, under 5-litre); Toyota Tundra (Half-ton, over 5-litre);

With the highest overall point score of 153.3, the Toyota Tundra Double Cab SR5 with 5.7-litre engine and 4WD was named the top contender.

Winner of the Motor Trend Truck of the Year

The 2008 Tundra is the winner of the Motor Trend Truck of the year.

The Tundra proved it’s capabilities winning over some big competition, all the other vehicles tested were heavy-duty models; Chevy Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD, and Ford F-250, F-350, and F-450.

The Motor Trend Truck of the year test was held at an 3840-acre facility where there are more than 50 miles of test roads, ranging from smooth tarmac to rough gravel washes. The trucks were also loaded with 7500 and 10,000-pound trailers to test their towing performance. The Trucks were tested for superiority, significance and value.
